Dr. Vasant N. Pawar, MS, FICS, FAIS from Nasik, Maharashtra, passed away on October 7th 2010 while touring for the cause of ASI. He was a member of the Parliament and M.L.C. (Maharashtra) between 2004–2006 and 2006–2012; he also was a G.C. member of ASI (2004–2009); a member of M.C.I. and the recipient of B.C. Roy National Award. He had many social and medical awards to his credit. He was a member of many States, National and International Organizations. He also was a member of various committees of Govt. of Maharashtra, University of Pune, Nasik and Mumbai. He was the Founder Chairman of various Institutions - M.Y.P.
