I read the recent article by Müller et al. [
1] entitled “Postmortem volumetric analysis of the nucleus accumbens in male heroin addicts: implications for deep brain stimulation” with great interest, and I would like to make a few comments. The authors applied postmortem volumetric analysis of the nucleus accumbens (NA) using coronal brain sections from heroin addicts and healthy controls and found that the mean volume of the NA was smaller in heroin addicts (15 % smaller the left and 16 % smaller the right NA) than in controls [
