I write in response to the intriguing study by Liu et al. [1], published in the World Journal of Urology, which focused on identifying predictors of the indistinct plane (IP) in patients undergoing Holmium Laser Enucleation of the Prostate (HoLEP). This pivotal research, involving a review of data from 208 patients, underscored prostatic volume (PV) and prior biopsy as significant predictors of capsule plane status during HoLEP. A crucial finding of their study is the determination of a PV threshold of less than 54 ml, significantly increasing the likelihood of encountering an IP, a finding derived from a meticulous analysis involving the area under the receiver operating characteristic curve. …
