Musculoskeletal: what's different in children? Run over by a golf cart and my leg hurts

This 11-year-old boy was on a golf cart when he fell off the cart and then it ran over his left leg. There was no open wound sustained and he had no other injuries. However, he experienced almost immediate pain over the lower leg and ankle region. The pain never abated, and in fact got worse. In addition, swelling over the lower left leg was increasing and so he was brought to our Emergency Room (ER). …
