“Present and future in Nuclear Medicine” was the theme of the 3rd Balkan Congress of Nuclear Medicine, which took place in Bucharest, Romania, on 23–26 April. A total of 270 participants from Romania and 25 other countries enjoyed the very successful event, which was organized together with the Romanian Congress of Nuclear Medicine by the Romanian Society of Nuclear Medicine and Oameni si Companii. Most of the specialists who attended the Congress came from Romania (54.8 %) and other Balkan countries (about 25 %) and most were physicians (Figs. 1 and 2).
