Here in the middle of 2017, I have witnessed the growth of the impact factors (IFs) of our benchmark journals, the Journal of Nuclear Medicine (IF: 6.6) and European Journal of Nuclear Medicine (IF: 7.2). The increase of citations of the European Journal was a pleasant surprise, and the IF of the Journal of Nuclear Medicine was the same. As Editor-in-Chief in charge of Nuclear Medicine Molecular Imaging, after contemplation, I now think that we need to ruminate on a plausible cause for this. …
