Venous thromboembolism (VTE) represents a significant concern in patients with abdominal malignancies. Despite historical reports highlighting clotting abnormalities in peritoneal mesothelioma (PeM) patients and the acknowledged risk associated with cytoreductive surgery (CRS), hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC), and systemic chemotherapy, large-scale studies on VTE in PeM are lacking.1,2
