Firstly, we would like to congratulate Dr. Ala Wafa and his coworkers on their newly published article entitled “The Alarming Rate of Malnutrition after Single Anastomosis Sleeve Ileal Bypass. A Single Centre Experience” [1]. The authors have discussed both the pros and cons of single anastomosis sleeve ileal (SASI) bypass/bipartition, highlighting the alarming rate of malnutrition they have encountered in their study postoperatively. However, in this letter, we would like to describe the possible reasons behind this encounter and further build a point of research for further analysis toward SASI. …
