Lloyd Milton Nyhus, MD died peacefully from natural causes at the age of 85 years on December 15, 2008. He was the Warren H. Cole Professor and Head of the Department of Surgery at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Chicago from 1967 to 1989 and retired from the University in 1995, although he remained an internationally renowned surgical figure until his death. …
