This month’s issue of the American Journal of Clinical Dermatology sees the launch of a new and exciting section on evidence-based reviews, fronted by a systematic review of second-generation H1-antihistamines in chronic urticaria by Kavosh and Khan.[1] The rationale for such a section deserves some further exploration by revisiting some of the basic tenets of evidence-based dermatology (EBD), systematic reviews, and comparative effectiveness research (CER), and what these mean for a practicing clinical dermatologist. …
