We read with great interest the article by Kim and colleagues entitled “Disparities in Gastric Cancer Outcomes among Asian Ethnicities in the USA.”1 In that study, notable differences in survival rates were observed among Asian patients with gastric cancer treated in Los Angeles. Several studies previously reported better outcome in Asian Americans when compared with other ethnicities, and these findings are confirmed in recent reports.24 A peculiarity of this study is the demonstration of heterogeneous survival among Asian ethnicities. …
