Ion channels/transporters were recently shown to be crucially involved in a number of the fundamental functions of cancer cells, and a cellular physiologic approach has potential as a novel strategy in specific cancer treatments. In gastric cancer (GC), the authors previously investigated the expression and functions of Ca2+ channels, including transient receptor potential vanilloid 2 (TRPV2),1 and Cl channels such as anoctamins (ANOs).2
