In pancreas divisum (PD), a congenital anomaly resulting from the failure of fusion of the dorsal and ventral pancreatic ductal systems, pancreatic juice drains mainly through the minor papilla via the dorsal duct, leading to high intraductal pressure, causing pancreatitis.
1‐4 Endoscopic minor papilla sphincterotomy (EMPS) is a treatment option for recurrent acute and chronic pancreatitis in patients with PD.
