Triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) accounts for 10 to 15% of diagnosed breast cancers worldwide. TNBC is negative for oestrogen receptor, progesterone receptor and human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 expression, and is associated with a poor prognosis.
