Cryopyrin-associated periodic syndromes (CAPS) are dominantly inherited autoinflammatory diseases (AD) caused by NLRP3 mutations. They include different phenotypes (FCAS, Muckle-Wells syndrome, and CINCA/NOMID) with different severity, usually as childhood onset fever and urticarial-like rash.
