Sepsis, complicated with disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC), is the most frequent cause of mortality in the ICU despite improvements in patient care [1]. Plasmapheresis is a tool to remove endotoxins and inflammatory mediators responsible for pathophysiology. We design a study in a small group of septic patients complicated with DIC to evaluate the changes on coagulation parameters, severity of sepsis and outcome of plasmapheresis. …
