Abstract

To optimally rejuvenate the aging face, a combination approach is often required to address the various facets of the dynamic aging process. When combining laser, light and energy-based devices, and injectables, not only is there a possible synergistic effect that can lead to better results but also patients get their desired result more quickly, which can translate into greater patient satisfaction and retention. Since the concerns patients present with are classically a result of a multiple-tissue issue, a single modality can rarely effectively provide patients with the results they desire in a single treatment session. By choosing the appropriate combination of ablative lasers, nonablative lasers, intense pulsed light, radiofrequency, and microfocused ultrasound, physicians can tailor the treatment to satisfy specific patient concerns more effectively and efficiently.
