The Canadian Journal of Anesthesia has retracted this article as an investigation of the Japanese Society of Anesthesiologists into the author's body of work found several concerns with the validity of the data and the ethics approval. In the opinion of the Editor-in-Chief and after additional investigation by the publisher, confidence in the results and the conclusions drawn in this article no longer exists. Yuhji Saitoh has not responded to communication from the Editor-in-Chief or the publisher about this retraction; letters to three different email addresses were returned as undeliverable. …
