Sessile serrated adenoma of appendix presenting as acute appendicitis is very uncommon. Grossly, the adenoma may not present with a mass. It may present as a mucin-filled cystic dilatation of appendix and right iliac fossa pain. Thorough histopathological evaluation of all specimens is of utmost importance for its detection. Careful pathological evaluation of the specimen is also essential to rule out small foci of invasive carcinoma.
