To the Editor: We read with interest the article published by Wang et al., [1] describing the safety and efficacy of self-made topical 2% propranolol cream in the treatment of proliferating infantile hemangiomas (IH) [1]. We would like to highlight the robust evidence base supporting the safe and effective use of an alternative topical β-blocker, timolol maleate (0.25% or 0.5%) [2–7], which is recommended for use in the current UK practice [8,9].
