I have read with interest an article of mid-term results of mitral valve repair (MVR) with autologous pericardial patch for active endocarditis (IE) with extensive destruction [1]. Follow-up data were excellent, and two patients underwent reoperations for worsening mitral regurgitation during the follow-up period. The two patients had bileaflet repair as an initial surgery.
