Adhesive small bowel obstruction (aSBO) can occur following two different mechanisms (39% single band adhesion (SBA) and 61% matted adhesions (MA)).¹ SBA could be the indication of choice for early surgery. A radiologic score to predict the SBA (≥ 5) has recently been described and allows for the diagnosis of SBA with a sensitivity and a specificity of 67.6% and 84.6%.² Its application in clinical practice remains to be defined.
