It is a privilege to publish the paper “My Story: A Genetic Counselor’s Journey from Provider to Patient” in the Journal of Genetic Counseling. The author tells a powerful story about the termination of a pregnancy in her second trimester. Her story moved us to tears as we followed her journey from the early days of pregnancy to the confirmation of serious anomalies in her developing baby to the decision to terminate. She takes us with her through the termination experience and the aftermath. It is virtually impossible to read her story and remain detached from the anguish that she, her husband, and family members experienced. …
