It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dr. Brian Howard. For many years, Dr. Howard was affiliated with the Long Island Consultation Center (LICC), the premier mental health agency that founded the Journal of Contemporary Psychotherapy. Dr. Howard joined the LICC Board of Directors in 1975, and served as Chairman of the Board from 1988 to 2009. In addition to his service on the board, Dr. Howard was a corporate member of the Long Island Institute for Mental Health and the LICC. He earned his Ph.D. in chemistry, and began his career in academia. He later worked for several different scientific journals. Dr. Howard played a major role in forming and guiding both the Long Island Institute for Mental Health and the LICC. …
