One of the biggest challenge for the clinician is when the patient still persists with complaints of orofacial pain, even with the adoption of well known and appropriate treatment. One of the reasons for this fact can be the misdiagnosis, very often in the field of orofacial pain, since the trigeminal system is frequently influenced by a diversity of different neural inputs.
