We thank the authors for their comments on our article. PLIF has been reported to cause C-ASP more frequently than PLF [1, 2]. More authors, however, have reported no association between the occurrence of C-ASP and type of arthrodesis [37]. Neither postoperative segmental lordosis [813] nor % slip [8, 9, 13] at the fusion segment was reported to be associated with occurrence of ASP. In the present study, type of arthrodesis, segmental lordosis, and % slip at the fused segment were not significant risk factors. These findings show that the association between conditions of fused segments and the occurrence of ASP is still controversial. …
