Professor Victor Rogozkin celebrates his 80th birthday this year. Victor Rogozkin was born on February 23, 1928 in Leningrad. During the Second World War he remained in Leningrad, which was then blockaded, and worked at an armament factory. In 1944 he was mobilized into the Russian Navy where, after completing training as a telegraphist, he served in the Reconnaissance Department of the Baltic Navy Fleet. In 1949 he entered the Military Institute of Physical Culture in Leningrad to train as a military physical training instructor, completing his training in 1953, and then served as a physical training instructor on the battleship October Revolution with the rank of lieutenant. …
