Giant peripheral primitive neuroectodermal tumor of the mons pubis: a case report

Primitive neuroectodermal tumors (PNETs) are high grade malignant neoplasms and classified within the small round (blue) cell tumors. They occur more commonly in bone and deep soft tissue than in the skin and subcutaneous tissue [1]. Less than 50 PNET cases originating from the skin have been reported to date [2]. Although the most common localizations in the female genital tract are the ovary and the uterus, primitive neuroectodermal tumors develop rarely in the vagina, cervix, and the vulva [3]. The current reported case is a patient with a huge PNET extending from the vulva to the lower abdomen. …
