Immunoglobulin (Ig) light chain deposition disease (LCDD), a rare protein misfolding disorder characterized by non-amyloid Ig light chain deposition, is part of the spectrum of monoclonal Ig deposition disease (MIDD) secondary to a clonal plasma cell proliferation, together with Ig heavy chain deposition disease (HCDD) and Ig light chain (AL) and heavy chain (AH) amyloidosis. When occurring in the kidney and other organs, LCDD is typically kappa, while in the brain is typically lambda [5]. …
