We thank Prof. Kehlet for his letter and read with interest his comments on our manuscript [1]. Concerns were raised about the methodology of our study where the data suggested that better compliance with pre- and intra-operative elements of the ERAS protocol may be associated with improved patient survival in patients undergoing laparoscopic surgery for non-metastatic colorectal cancer. We agree that there are limitations to this study, but from the comments received, we understand that there are certain issues that have to be clarified. …
