We have read the findings of El-Menyar et al. with great interest [1]. Splenic injury has been implicated in as high as 45% of cases of blunt abdominal trauma [2]. Without prompt identification and management, mortality can reach 10% [2]. We recently reviewed all splenic injury cases (n = 238) referred to our hospital over a 10-year period [3]. …
