The article by Dr. Parsa and colleagues attempts to answer a question that has been around almost as long as botulinum type A neurotoxin itself: How long can you store it? Having been on the neurotoxin lecture circuit for more than a decade, I have without a doubt encountered this question more often than any other from an audience with at least a few beginners. It is obviously one of the most practical questions as well. When a physician first begins injecting neurotoxins for chemodenervation, it is unlikely that the practice will start off very busy. A label that insists on use of the reconstituted toxin within 4 h creates quite a hurdle to a novice Botox injector. …
