A 14-year-old girl presented with hip pain. A radiograph of the right hip (Fig. 1) demonstrated diffuse, symmetrical sclerosis of the pelvis and proximal femurs. A radiograph of the chest showed diffuse sclerosis with numerous expanded vertebrae and ribs, with involvement of the scapulae, clavicles, and humeral heads (Fig. 2). No dominant lesion was identified. Open biopsy of the right ilium confirmed osteosarcoma. CT at presentation and at 9 months detected no extraosseous lesions (no pulmonary metastases). Additional follow-up was unavailable as the patient sought further treatment elsewhere.×
