A novel use of the lead hand as a shield against radiation exposure in theatre

Abstract

We describe a novel use of the lead hand for radiation protection shield when handling a mini c-arm image intensifier. It was tested in the laboratory and has proved to be effective and safe. It is easily applied on to the operator’s dorsum of hand and is comfortable to wear.
