A pressure clip is a commonly used method for treating keloid scar but none seems to produce sustainable pressure. We have constructed a pressure clip with an adjustable spring mechanism that allows the pressure load to be varied. The design of the clip also maintained its position while compressing the keloid scar. In our series, 72 patients were treated over a 5 year period (range 2–9 years) as a supplementary method to other regimes. Of the 72 patients, 45 had failed treatment or re-occurring keloid after previous de-bulking surgery and steroid injection. Using the spring loaded pressure clip as part of three different regimes, we found the spring loaded pressure clip to be a useful supplementary treatment device.
