We appreciate Ms. Dionne’s comments regarding our abstract. For this patient the complication of prolapse was disabling and seriously affected her quality of life. She had undergone uterine artery embolization (UAE) and was not counselled about development of prolapse. Although her symptoms associated with her uterine fibroids resolved after UAE, she developed unexpected symptoms associated with pelvic organ prolapse. We caution gynecologists and radiologists to counsel their patients appropriately about possible sequelae of UAE and any other interventions that result in uterine debulking. …
