Health Canada is warning parents and caregivers against use of two unauthorised children's syrups for thinning mucus (Robikids Carbocisteine Mucolytic, and Solmux Carbocisteine Mucolytic Pediatric Syrup) which it has seized from Kamshoppe after the products were advertised on Facebook. Both products are labelled to contain the prescription drug carbocisteine, which poses serious health risks including anaphylactic reactions, diarrhoea, nausea and gastrointestinal bleeding. …
