Diminished appetite, insomnia, worsening headaches and tremor: case report

A 44-year-old man developed insomnia, diminished appetite, worsening headaches and tremor while receiving mixed amfetamine salts [dextroamphetamine/amphetamine, Adderall XR]. The man, with a history post-traumatic stress disorder and traumatic brain injury, was started on mixed amfetamine salts at a dosage of 20mg daily for an unspecified cognitive disorder [route not stated]. He subsequently developed insomnia, diminished appetite, worsening headaches and tremor [time to reactions onsets not stated]. The mixed amfetamine salts therapy was discontinued; consequently, his sleep and appetite improved and the tremor resolved [not all outcomes stated]. …
