There are many skeletal variations in the ankle and foot, but the os talus secundarius is one of the rarest, and there are few reports of this entity in the medical literature. It is located in the lateral aspect of the talus, distal to the lateral malleolus, and it may become symptomatic, with pain and restriction of range of motion of the subtalar joint. We describe one patient with important bilateral clinical manifestations who was treated by surgical excision of this accessory ossicle. …
