Pediatric Sleep Related Problems: The Tip of the Iceberg

The 3rd edition of International Classification of Sleep Disorders (ICSD-3) has taken forward the nosology of sleep disorders. The major diagnostic sections are Insomnia, Sleep related breathing disorders (SRBDs), Central disorders of hypersomnolence, Circadian rhythm sleep wake disorders, Parasomnias, Sleep related movement disorders and other sleep disorders. Patients are labelled on the basis of clinical and polysomnographic (PSG) criteria. Except for obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), the diagnostic criteria for rest of the disorders are same in adults and pediatric age group [1]. …
