The description of coronal alignment in the perioperative assessment of knee disorders is important for accurately reporting diagnoses and outcomes. Most orthopaedic subspecialties—pediatrics, osteotomy/deformity correction, sports medicine, and tumor reconstruction—rely on coronal alignment to ensure satisfactory, reproducible, and reliable outcomes.
