Situs inversus totalis (SIT) is a rare anatomic anomaly characterized by a complete mirror image transposition of the thoracic and abdominal viscera relative to the situs solitus. Thereafter, surgical procedures are technically more difficult in patients with SIT because of the different anatomic positions of organs, especially in endoscopic surgery.
