Excerpt

Low-dose methotrexate is widely used in the treatment of rheumatologic and cutaneous diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis and psoriasis. Opportunistic infections associated with this immunosuppressive therapy are increasingly recognized. In this respect, Pneumocystis carinii pneumonia has been the most prevalently reported infection [1] and a case of Aspergillus fumigatus pulmonary infection has been described [2]. The first case of pulmonary coinfection by Pneumocystis carinii and Aspergillus fumigatus, both community acquired, in a patient with low-dose methotrexate-treated seronegative arthritis is presented. …

WHO estimates that half of all patients worldwide are non-adherent to their prescribed medication. The consequences of poor adherence can be catastrophic, on both the individual and population level.

Join our expert panel to discover why you need to understand the drivers of non-adherence in your patients, and how you can optimize medication adherence in your clinics to drastically improve patient outcomes.
