Rheumatic diseases commonly present with fever, and in such cases, it may be a diagnostic challenge to the physician in spite of the advances made in the fields of medical diagnosis and technology in recent decades. In most previous series, rheumatic diseases were reported to be the third most common cause of fever of unknown origin (FUO), ranging between 10% and 20% of all FUO cases [
