The economical benefit of TEP is still in doubt like in other laparoscopic procedures. Although we know that endoscopic hernia repair can be a cost effective hernia treatment from a social perspective, the costs for the hospital seem to be higher. The presented publication shows technical modifications in TEP called Portsmouth Technique leading to comparable costs to an open mesh repair (Lichtenstein). …
