Percutaneous Thoracic and Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Repair

Endograft repair of abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) has rapidly gained widespread clinical acceptance. Recent publications have espoused the short- and mid-term benefits over open aneurysm repair.1-3 Endovascular aneurysm repair (EVAR) continues to be refined as patient selection, endovascular techniques, and devices improve. There are presently four different commercially available devices that have been approved for general use. Thoracic endografts have also been developed, and some industry-manufactured devices are currently being used in the United States to treat thoracic aortic aneurysms as part of phase II investigational and post-marketing protocols. …
