We read with great interest the Review article “Current status of laparoscopic gastrectomy for cancer in Japan”, by Kitano and Shiraishi [2], and we would like to contribute to the discussion on this important subject reporting our experience on laparoscopic total and subtotal gastrectomy with D1 and D2 lymph node dissections for advanced gastric cancer, recently presented to the 56th Annual Meeting of the Southwestern Surgical Congress [1]. …
