Postpartum hemorrhage (PPH) is an obstetric emergency that can follow vaginal or cesarean delivery. It is a major cause of shock, renal failure, acute respiratory distress syndrome, coagulopathy and Sheehan’s syndrome. PPH is one of the top five causes of maternal mortality in both high-income and low-income countries, with a much lower absolute risk of death in the former [1]. …
