The incorporation of minimally invasive therapeutic procedures into clinical practice has resulted in an important change in patient care. Many procedures were developed as a result of the innovative spirit of interventional radiologists. What began as “therapeutic alternatives” have now become first choice procedures in multiple pathologies. Since the early days of diagnostic angiography, rather complex procedures have been developed, some of which require a high degree of specialization and clinical involvement. Hence, the term “interventional radiology subspecialization” was coined. …
