Dr. Takayanagi and his colleague have addressed an issue that has long been a difficult and uncommon problem in the practice of plastic surgery. Among transsexuals, there is increasing body reshaping such as penile reconstruction and mastectomy in female-to-male transsexuals as well as breast augmentation and vaginal reconstruction in male-to-female transsexuals. This article addresses the difficult problem of correcting the chest wall for female-to-male transsexuals. The authors describe a very useful chest wall contouring method used for 23 transsexuals. …
